Located on Derby Road, just a stone’s throw away from Nottingham city centre, sits Deckchair Barbering & Hairdressing. A hidden gem with a few surprises inside.

Specialising in barbering and cut throat shaving, Deckchair offers a wide range of different services from traditional to contemporary styles and everything in between.

The salon offers a relaxed, quirky and unique setting, topped off with deckchairs on the ceiling - whilst below the floorboards sit Nottingham’s famous caves.

Don’t be surprised if you see Deckchair on the event scene, we’re experienced in a wide variety of environments from student nights to haircuts for the homeless - and even BBC news!

WE ARE HIRING

Self-Employed Barber

We are looking for a fully qualified self-employed barber with at least two years experience in the trade along with their own client base.

The successful applicant must:

Be highly motivated
Be disciplined
Have excellent people skills
Have the ability to develop professional one-to-one client relationships
An up-to-date knowledge of all barbering skills and techniques is also essential.

Filipa - Managing Partner

Filipa joined the Deckchair team in November 2022 and has quickly distinguished herself as a versatile Barber. From classic cuts to trendy mullets and skin fades, Filipa excels across a broad spectrum of styles. Her passion for barbering shines through, earning her recognition as a finalist for the 2024 and 2025 Barber of the Year at the UK Hair and Beauty Awards. Nicolina - Barber & Hairdresser

Nicolina brings a wealth of experience to both hairdressing and barbering, with unparalleled skills in the trade. She excels in a wide range of services, from ladies' cuts to gentlemen's perms, colouring to wet shaving. Nicolina's diverse expertise ensures she can meet any styling need with precision and flair. Beyond her technical abilities, Nicolina is known for her fantastic personality, making every client’s visit an enjoyable experience.

Daniyal - Barber

Daniyal joined the Deckchair team immediately after qualifying as a Barber in 2021. With a deep passion for modern hairstyles and trends, Daniyal takes pride in transforming clients' visions into reality. Daniyal has a knack for understanding individual preferences and consistently delivering exceptional results. Daniyal aims for every client to walk away feeling confident and thrilled with their new look.

Mason - Newly Qualified Barber

Mason is an ambitious, newly qualified barber, eager to develop his skills and grow in the industry. While attending college, he will be gaining hands-on experience at Deckchair, refining his craft and learning from the team. Passionate about barbering, Mason is dedicated to building his expertise and delivering great service.
